The right to education is still inexplicably and unjustly denied to millions of children who need it the most.  In my region, protracted conflicts have uprooted children and disrupted their schooling for far too long.  As is often the case, it is girls who pay the highest toll–too may forced to swap homework for housework or, even worse, school uniforms for bridal gowns.  We must educate a girl!

The alchemic power of education is well documented.  When girls are educated, they are empowered to make decisions that improve their klives and those of their families.

They become resilient and more likely to excel later in life.

We all have a role to play.  So my challenge to each fo you is:  What will you do?

In an interview with Oprah, Queen Rania shared her perspective raising her children, “When we invest in raising our children as global citizens who are educated and exposed to the diverse religions, cultures and characters of the world, peace is possible.”   She is clear that education more than literacy; it is about cultivating values and dreams.
